Eternal Joy @George Bernard Shaw
I have been reading quite extensively these days. So took a random topic, George Bernard Shaw.He was an Irish play writer and a co-founder of the London School of Economics. A paradox apparently creativity and school of economics, two extreme ends. Much more interesting things were yet to be unveiled. I noticed some spiritual inspiration in his writing. Just came
across George Bernard Shaw’s book ‘Man and Superman : a Comedy and Philosophy ‘
. The title itself Man and Superman was
an attention seeker. The difference between man and superman is only the
word super. The realized ones are always making one point and that is ‘ this is
about becoming super human , this is about realizing being human is super’. I found my favorite part in the preface :
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by
yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown
on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish
little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not
devote itself to making you happy.George Bernard ShawEpistle Dedicatory to Arthur Bingham Walkley“Man and Superman: a Comedy and a Philosophy”
I have made an effort to unfold this mystery
of true joy, here are some conclusions:
“a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one” – If we
infuse everything we do with joy, compassion, peace, love and wisdom. This is
the “mighty purpose” which we should recognize.
“Being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap
heap” – This is my second
favorite line . When we are inside a conversation, a task, any situation, and
you give up all 100% , the true compassionate , dedicated self. You might think
its pretty exhaustive job that you’ll do but trust me it’s the best feeling you
get every time you let loose yourself. True that yourself that very moment but you did gain the very next person . ;)
